Belfast Anti-Poverty Festival

sal hanvey

The Belfast Anti-Poverty Festival has been timed to coincide with World Homeless Action Day on Friday 10 October. It will be a three-day event; the goal is to raise awareness, highlight issues and find solutions through music and art.

I am delighted to support this Festival and will be playing in The Sunflower Bar on Sunday 12 October 2014 7.00-9.00pm. I look forward to seeing you there!

Culture Night Belfast

sal hanvey

I really enjoyed taking part in Culture Night Belfast, or #CNB14 as it appears on Twitter and Facebook!

250+ events, 100+ venues and over 30,000 people in Cathedral Quarter and beyond!

Thank you to all who came to support me in The John Hewitt, I have posted photographs from the event on my Facebook page.

Supporting Jools Holland and His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra

sal hanvey

I am supporting the incredibly talented Jools Holland and His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra in Dublin later this year.

Speaking to local media I explained, “I feel very privileged and honoured to be supporting Jools Holland in the Irish leg of his UK and Ireland tour on 16, 17 and 18 October. It will be a magical experience to play to such big audiences in the Killarney INEC and Bord Gais Theatre in Dublin”.

I have been involved in the music industry for as long as I can remember, my parents are well known folk musicians and my music is influenced by my early years growing up. I recently launched my debut album, Nostalgia Queen, and just played at the Stendhal Festival in Limavady at the weekend.

Respected musician, Donovan, met me at a festival earlier this year and had this to say, “Sal is quite a gal. She blends jazz with her songs in a fresh way. Rising from her musical influences, she has found her own voice. Sal is Ireland’s new lady to listen and watch”.

Jools Holland and His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, supported by me, are playing in the INEC Killarney on 16 October and the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin’s Dockland’s 17 and 18 October 2014.
